HinSchG at DESY

HinSchG Act on the protection of whistleblowers at DESY

According to the German Whistleblower Protection Act (HinSchG) a reporting office has been established at DESY. Reports can be submitted in English and German and also anonymously. If you wish to remain anonymous, please choose a non-official e-mail address that does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about your identity and do not sign your name to text messages.
If you would like to submit an anonymous tip by telephone, remember to suppress your telephone number beforehand and not to state your name during the conversation. If you contact MROS by mail and wish to remain anonymous, please do not indicate
a sender and do not sign your name. Keep in mind that with anonymous tips, no queries can be made and no feedback on the procedure can be given. If you would like to make a corresponding tip, please use the following email address: hinweis@desy.de
It is also possible to contact the reporting office via telephone:
Anna-Christina Jauch 040/ 8998 - 4044 and Heidrun Bojahr 040/ 8998 - 5361 as well.
You can also give information in person to the registration office. For this purpose, please make an appointment in advance by phone or email.

This internal reporting office is provisionally established until June 30, 2024. As of November 2023, the Management Board and the General Works Council will negotiate a (general) works agreement on the HinSchG reporting office and a procedure for processing tips.

An external reporting office at the Bundesjustizamt / Federal Office of Justice is available for external reports under the Whistleblower Protection Act.

In addition, the Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht (BaFin) / Federal Financial Supervisory Authority and the Bundeskartellamt / Federal Cartel Office have further reporting offices with special responsibilities. Please note: In principle, whistleblowers are free to contact a competent external reporting office. However, we ask that internal reporting channels be given priority.

The German Whistleblower Protection Act (HinSchG) has been in force since July 2, 2023, and must be observed when providing and receiving information.
Please consider that anonymous tips can incriminate colleagues or fellow human beings and therefore initiate investigations. Please, therefore use these information channels responsibly and in compliance with the duty to tell the truth. Please also note, for example, the information for whistleblowers from Transparency International Deutschland e.V. before taking next steps.
